Dinosaur Love

Found this poem today. I am not sure of the author, but I thought it was sweet.

Today, a friend and I had a
discussion about dinosaurs
and came to the conclusion
that t-rexs were only angry
and aggressive because
their arms were too short
to hug one another.

Every Tear Drop is A Waterfall (Coldplay)

Recently, with the help of my best friend Grace, I have been working on some things for my room. I focused on the two awkward spaces that I have between my dormer windows and the rest of my room.
In the right one, I decided to finally put up the hammock I had been meaning to put up for over a year. I bought it two summers back in Asia and it's probably one of my best purchases. After a few adventures with putting it up, I  now think it is the most relaxing and comfortable things in my room!

I also put up these drawings (sticker things) of antique bikes. They weren't too hard to put on the walls and they are so cool!
In the left dormer window I decided to put up some more of the stickers but this time of birds and cages. I also put up some paintings that I had made earlier in the week.

These are a couple of the paintings I made. I created them by using colored bubble soap! They were so much fun to make!

My newest obsession, and hopefully collection is glass jars. I love old antique ones so much! So I placed a couple on the window sill to collect and reflect light.
I decided to make one of the jars a wish jar. I learned about the wish jar concept from my friend's sister's blog, Lady Sadie, and she got the idea from the author, Keri Smith. As you can see, I have already filled my jar with many wishes that I hope come true! One has already!!
This part will probably always be a work in progress, but my goal is to cover the ceilings of these nooks with photos with my friends from the past two years of so.

Song of the Moment: Every Tear Drop is A Waterfall

Also if you haven't noticed, I am now making all of my posts titled after a song... so yeah.

Blood Bank (Bon Iver)

I think that I would like for it to be fall as much as I would like not to start school on Monday. This is because autumn is my favorite season to dress in! It is the time for sweaters and leathers. The time for socks and scarves, boots and blazers. And the time for me to start wearing my favorite color again, black, with no judgement for being goth.
As usual with the beginning of school, I am stressed about going back in just two short days and in the need of a little comfort. So I grab a soft t-shirt, stretchy black pants, a sweater and I'm good to go. These pieces always make me feel warm on the inside as well as out... too bad its like 100 degrees outside.

Peach Blossom

With the temperatures in Texas, reaching over 110 everyday, my natural fashion instinct is to of course wear jean shorts and a t-shirt. It's almost like the heat wears me out so much I just give up. But since I just returned from a very long journey, all of my go-to clothes are dirty, very dirty. So I searched through my closet and found this!

It is so unusual for me to be wearing such a bright and vibrant outfit, with colors like yellow in the sweater, blue in the skirt, orange in the shoes, and red in the lipstick. However, I felt it so appropriate for the meeting I had to attend the other day. I wanted to look like a smiling ball of sunshine. And to add to the theme I wore a recently purchased scent which smells of nectarines, peaches, and honey. It is utterly delicious and sweet. I smell like a little peach blossom.

If you still love me, please forgive me

So I have a new favorite band. To be quite honest, it is actually a new obsession. This band, unlike my other artists that I share on my blog, has hit 3 albums and now countless fans and popularity. It seems I am a little slow with this discovery (so if you still love me, please forgive me), which my friend Natalie presented to me. I had some of their songs, heard a lot of them, but it was not until these past few weeks that I realized the geniuses of which Arcade Fire is made up of. Much love to all the members of the band and I cannot wait to see them perform in August!

My favorite song:

Playing with Fire

This summer, on my trip to Thailand I witnessed some pretty fantastic and amazing things. Among these experiences was the viewing of night performers in the Phi Phi Islands (which by the way are gorgeous). These fire dancers immediately crossed my eye on the beach and I just love the way the photos captured the moment of the performance.
